Provide Advanced First Aid (HLTAID014) with Provide advanced resuscitation and oxygen therapy (HLTAID015) – $300

Advanced First Aid Course
Overview:

This nationally recognised course gives participants the skills and knowledge required to provide an advanced first aid response, including management of the incident and other first aiders, until the arrival of medical or other assistance. The unit applies to workers who may be required to provide, coordinate and manage a first aid response across a range of complex situations, including community and workplace settings. Participants will learn how to utilise specialised first aid equipment; stabilise a casualty where medical aid has been delayed; maintain life in an unconscious casualty with the use of oxygen equipment; and operate a defibrillator unit in order to maintain life in an adult casualty in cardiac arrest.

Pre-requisites:

Participants must have basic computer skills and access to a reliable computer with internet and email access. Mobile phones or tablets are not compatible with the online training portion of this course. As an assessment requirement of the HLTAID009 unit, participants must be able to perform at least 2 minutes (5 cycles) of CPR on an adult resuscitation manikin that is placed on the floor.

Licence & Regulatory Requirements:

It is recommended by industry councils and legislation that this course is renewed every 3 years and HLTAID009 & HLTAID015 every 12 months to remain up to date with the latest guidelines.
