CPR | Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
Our nationally recognised cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training course gives participants the basic skills and knowledge if they were required to maintain a person’s life in an emergency situation until help arrived.
Participants will receive hands on practical training by experienced qualified trainers.
We teach to the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines, so you can feel confident knowing you meet national standards.
This course HLTAID009 is suitable to all persons, whether you are new to learning CPR, or need to refresh your training.
This course covers:
- How to properly assess an emergency situation
- DRSABCD
- CPR techniques on adults and infants
- Using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
- Assessing and moving injured casualties
- Legal responsibilities of a first aider
- Basic anatomy and physiology
If you work in an environment with Low Voltage (LV) apparatus, consider enrolling in the combined Low Voltage Rescue & CPR course.
On successful completion, participants will be issued with a Statement of Attainment with the following unit:
- HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
This unit is nationally recognised and meets the training requirements outlined by industry standards. It certifies that the participant is competent in delivering effective cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in emergency situations.
This certification is valid for a 12 month period, after which a refresher course is recommended to ensure skills and knowledge remain current and aligned with the latest guidelines.
To meet the assessment requirements for this course, participants must demonstrate their ability to perform a minimum of 2 minutes (5 cycles) of CPR on an adult resuscitation manikin placed on the floor.
Licence & Regulatory Requirements
It is recommended by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) that HLTAID009 is completed every 12 months to remain current with the ARC guidelines.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL): Due to industry and/or licensing requirements RPL is not offered for this statement of attainment.
