This nationally recognised course gives participants the skills and knowledge required to provide an advanced first aid response, including management of the incident and other first aiders, until the arrival of medical or other assistance.

The unit applies to workers who may be required to provide, coordinate, and manage a first aid response across a range of complex situations, including community and workplace settings.

BUNDLE – Combine this unit (HLTAID014) with Provide Advanced Resuscitation and Oxygen Therapy by completing the combined course and save $60!

On successful completion, participants will be issued with a Statement of Attainment with the following unit:

HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
HLTAID010 Provide basic emergency life support
HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
HLTAID014 Provide Advanced First Aid

Participants must have basic computer skills and access to a reliable computer with internet and email access.

As an assessment requirement of the HLTAID009 unit, participants must be able to perform at least 2 minutes (5 cycles) of CPR on an adult resuscitation manikin that is placed on the floor.

Licence & Regulatory Requirements

It is recommended by industry councils and legislation that this course is renewed every 3 years and HLTAID009 (CPR) every 12 months to remain up to date with the latest guidelines.

Pre-course work:

Online/self-paced training (approximately 4-5 hours depending on the individual student and their personal circumstances and other commitments). This online training involves reading interactive modules and then using this information to complete a final exam. Online training must be completed prior to the face-to-face training.

Face-to-face work:

1 day face-to-face (approximately) your trainer will deliver practical training.
