Description

Overview: This course has been designed to introduce you to the relevant legislation, accepted practices, and safety procedures that are used on Metalliferous mining sites in order to create and maintain a safe and healthy working environment. The course focus is the health and safety of all people who work on, visit, or supply materials and services to a mine site.

Mining Supervisor – G1, G8, G9 (formerly S1, S2, S3)

Description

Overview: This nationally recognised training program provides participants with the units of competency required to achieve a Statement of Attainment which forms part of RII30109 Certificate III in Surface Extraction Operations or RII30209. Upon successful completion of this training program, participants will have acquired the skills and knowledge to enable them to undertake the role of and perform the duties and position requirements of a Mine Safety and Health Representative. Students who enrol into this course must have a minimum of 3 months onsite work experience in the Mining Industry or hold a Standard 11 (Mining Induction) Statement of Attainment.

Pre-requisites: Participants must hold and show evidence of:

A minimum of 3 months’ onsite work experience

or

Hold a Standard 11 (QLD Mining Induction) Statement of Attainment

Carry out the Risk Management Process – G2

Description

Overview: The RIIRIS402A Carry out the risk management processes covers the skills and knowledge required to carry out risk management processes in the coal and metalliferous mining industries. Candidates must be able to supply evidence of completion of the national competency unit RIIRIS301A (or MNCG1001A) from the Mining Supervisor (S1, S2, and S3 course) prior to enrolment (Statement of Attainment) issued less than 5 years ago

Pre-requisites: There are no pre-requisites under the training package, however due to industry requirements participants must supply a Statement of Attainment with unit of competency RIIRIS301D – Apply risk management processes. This is a unit from the Mining Supervisor (G1,G8,G9) and the Statement of Attainment must be issued less than 5 years ago.
