Our nationally recognised Fire Warden Training (PUAFER005) equips participants with the essential knowledge and confidence to manage workplace emergencies and lead safe evacuations. From fires and chemical spills to bomb threats, this comprehensive program ensures your team can respond effectively under pressure.

Course Overview

Our nationally accredited workplace Fire Warden Training equips students with the practical skills to assist in safe evacuations and follow emergency procedures correctly.

Regular training helps teams stay prepared for a variety of workplace incidents, including fires, alarms, and other situations requiring organised evacuation, ensuring a safer workplace for all.

This course will cover the following subjects:

Training requirements
Raising the alarm
Investigating the fire/alarm/incident and raising the alarm
Emergencies that may require evacuation
Firefighting safety procedures
Bomb threat procedures
Building fire safety
Fire Warden identification, procedures and responsibilities
Building fire alarms and communications systems
Developing evacuation plans and procedures
Emergency co-ordination and human behaviour in emergencies
Post-evacuation activities

Evacuation Drill Support

Our experienced fire and safety trainers can be booked to act as observers or instructors during your workplace fire safety building evacuation drills. After each drill, we provide a detailed written report highlighting areas for improvement and recommendations for future training. We can also expand upon previous training to include more complex, scenario-based exercises. Students will gain hands-on experience as our instructors conduct building evacuation drills.

On successful completion, participants will be issued with a Statement of Attainment with the following unit:

PUAFER005 Operate as part of an emergency control organisation

There are no specific prerequisite requirements for enrolling in or completing this course.

Licence & Regulatory Requirements

While Fire Warden course (and the unit of competency) does not have a formal expiry, both the Building Fire Safety Regulation 2008 (QLD) and Australian Standard AS 3745:2010 – Planning for Emergencies in Facilities recommend refresher training at least every two years.

For jurisdictions outside of Queensland, please refer to your local legislation and regulatory requirements to confirm refresher training intervals.
