Nationally Accredited Fire Warden Course with Practical Fire Safety Training

Our combined Chief Fire Warden and Fire Extinguisher training program provides experienced staff with the skills and knowledge to lead emergency responses, manage evacuations, and safely use firefighting equipment. This nationally recognised course is ideal for those taking on the role of Chief or Deputy Chief Fire Warden who already hold a PUAFER005 – Fire Warden Certification.

Participants in the Chief Warden training will gain the confidence to take control in workplace fire emergencies, following procedures outlined in Australian Standard 3745-2010.

Chief Fire Warden Training Course Overview

This Chief Fire Warden training session is tailored for workplaces that require Emergency Control Organisation (ECO) leadership personnel. As part of your chief fire warden training, you’ll take part in realistic practice drills. These include using emergency equipment and learn how to safely put out fires with hands-on fire extinguishing training. Scenarios are based on real workplaces to help prepare you for actual situations.

On successful completion, participants will be issued with a Statement of Attainment with the following units:

PUAFER005 Operate as part of an emergency control organisation

To be a Chief or Deputy Chief Warden you must also hold the PUAFER005 unit (the ‘Fire Warden’ unit). You will be asked to supply a current (within 2 years) statement of attainment that shows you hold PUAFER005.

If you do not hold the PUAFER005 unit, consider enrolling in our combined Fire Warden and Chief Warden course with fire extinguisher.

Licence & Regulatory Requirements

Fire extinguisher refresher training is required every two years to stay up to date with legislation, in accordance with:

While Chief Fire Warden training (and the unit of competency) does not have a formal expiry, both the Building Fire Safety Regulation 2008 (QLD) and Australian Standard AS 3745-2010 recommend refresher training at least every two years.

This course is also suitable for use in jurisdictions outside Queensland, such as New South Wales. For specific requirements for your jurisdiction, please consult the relevant legislation and regulatory guidance from your jurisdiction.
