This one-day upgrade course is specifically designed for individuals who have successfully completed the Commissioner for Declarations course within the last 12 months and are looking to become a Justice of the Peace (Qualified).
As a JP (Qualified), you’ll gain broader responsibilities that support your community and the justice system, including witnessing affidavits and issuing search warrants. This training is delivered by industry professionals with deep insight into Queensland’s legislative framework and real-world scenarios to help you feel confident and prepared.

This unit equips you with the knowledge and skills to fulfil the duties of a JP (Qualified), including witnessing and certifying a wide range of legal documents, issuing summonses and warrants, and performing other judicial responsibilities under Queensland law.
To enrol in this course, you must have completed the Commissioner for Declarations (Cdec) course within the last 12 months.

All participants are encouraged to visit the following website prior to enrolling to confirm they meet application requirements. Additional application fees do apply. Please note you must apply within 2 years of successfully completing the course. Once your application is submitted, please allow approximately 3 months for approval.
