Overview: 

This Nationally Accredited training course will give participants the skills and knowledge required to inspect, maintain and test a range of equipment. It includes inspecting response equipment, testing response equipment and cleaning, maintaining and restowing equipment/devices/tools.

While this course provides the training and qualification for height safety equipment inspection, participants will require experience with height safety equipment to further familiarise themselves with the common faults, wear and damage to look for when inspecting equipment. For example, working in a construction site where height safety equipment is used.

This course includes an online practical component. This takes the form of a video assessment, where participants are to demonstrate cleaning and inspection methods. To remain current and updated within the industry it is recommended that participants complete this course every 2 years.

Pre-requisites: 

Participants must have basic computer skills and access to a reliable computer with internet access, email access and a method of filming themselves (mobile phone, laptop/computer with webcam etc.) where they can be seen and heard clearly. Mobile phones and tablets cannot be used to complete the theory (learning module and exam) portion of this online course.

Participants will also require access to a simulated work environment, as well as one of the following pieces of equipment that you will be required to inspect as part of your assessment:

Option 1: Online/self-paced, the student has 3 months to complete from enrolment

The typical duration of this course is between 2-4 hours (based on experience).

This course includes an online practical component. This takes the form of a video assessment, where participants are to demonstrate cleaning and inspection methods.

Support for this online training is done via email with an assessor.
