CPP31418 – Certificate III in Close Protection Operations (QLD Class 1 Licence) – COMING SOON

Due to licensing requirements, this course (CPP31418 – Certificate III in Close Protection Operations) has been released to replace the old bodyguard course. Construction of this new course is currently underway, and as such course dates have not been set yet. This course is for participants in the security industry wishing to add bodyguard function to their Queensland Security Class 1 Licence. A bodyguard’s job is to protect the personal safety of a specific individual. This unit of competency specifies the outcomes required to ensure the safety of persons at risk under various security assignment conditions. It requires the ability to plan and prepare security arrangements, implement security and safety policies during escort activities, and monitor and review the effectiveness of the security assignment.


There are no pre-requisites under the training package, however due to licensing requirements participants are required to hold a current Queensland Security Licence or completed a Certificate II or III in Security Operations.

Licence & Regulatory Requirements: 

All Queensland Security Licenses are administered by Office of Fair Trading. All participants are encouraged to read through the requirements of a Queensland Security License application, as there is additional requirements & fee’s payable to Office of Fair Trading. e.g. Must be over the age of 18, must be a fit and proper person, cannot have had any disqualifying offences under the criminal code in the last 10 years.

Due to changes in the security package the regular bodyguard course is no longer available. CPP31418 Certificate III in Close Protection Operations will be replacing this and will be released in 2020. More information to be updated soon. 

On successful completion participants will be issued with a Statement of Attainment with the following units:

Fees include all assessments and resources required

Recognition of prior learning (RPL): $TBD

Note for international students – we are not CRICOS registered, please check your visa requirements for enrolment.  We cannot accept international students who are on a student visa if your visa specifies that you must study with a CRICOS provider.
