This nationally accredited qualification will give participants the knowledge and skills to gain employment into an entry level office administration role. This qualification is also the perfect starting point for those already in an administration role wishing to formalise their skills.

Participants will cover payroll, accounts, organising schedules, producing documents, customer service, WHS and computing. The Certificate III in Business (Administration) applies to a range of administrative roles in varied contexts. Individuals in these positions use some discretion and judgement and may provide technical advice and support to a team.

Please note that the BSB30120 Certificate III in Business is not a prerequisite for the BSB40120 Certificate IV in Business or the BSB50120 Diploma of Business. You may enrol in any level of business course.

Participants must have basic computer skills and access to a reliable computer with internet, email access and access to Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel software. As some assessments require an audio/visual submission, participants must also be able to record themselves using a method where they can be seen and heard clearly (e.g. mobile phone, computer/laptop with webcam etc.).

Some assessments in this course will require the student to interact with other participants, where they will perform a specific role during the assessment. These participants can be co-workers, family or friends.

Online Training with 12 months from date of enrolment to complete this course. We recommend 12-25 hours of study per week (depending on your individual skills and previous experience) to be on track for completion within 12 months.

You will have access to all your learning resources and assessments via your online portal and can start your online training as soon as you complete your Online Enrolment and Successful payment for the course. Students have the opportunity to accelerate their learning by dedicating more than the recommended hours of study per week to this course to finish sooner than the 12-month timeframe.

Certificate 3 Guarantee Program

ATI are pleased that we can offer Certificate 3 Guarantee Government Funding to eligible Queensland residents. Certificate III qualifications are targeted as they are considered the entry-level qualification most often needed to gain employment in many industry sectors. We have a range of different courses to choose from, and if you meet the eligibility criteria, you can do a Certificate III qualification from just $13*.

The Queensland Government subsidises the cost of undertaking an approved qualification, however all learners must contribute by paying a co-contribution fee.

Am I Eligible?

To be eligible to receive the Certificate 3 Guarantee, Students must:

  • Be a Queensland resident
  • Be aged 15 years or over, and no longer at school (with the exception of VET in Schools students)
  • Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or Australian permanent resident (including humanitarian entrants), or a temporary resident with the necessary visa and work permits on the pathway to permanent residency
  • Not hold, or be enrolled in, a certificate III level or higher qualification (not including qualifications completed at school and foundations skills training)

 

Eligibility for concessional payment

Under the Certificate 3 Guarantee program, concessional students are defined as:

    • Students (or their partner or guardian) who hold a Health Care or Pensioner Concession Card;
    • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students;
    • School students enrolled in a VETiS program;
    • Students with a disability; or
    • Students who are adult prisoners

 

However Certificate III Qualifications completed while at school and foundation skills courses are not counted and you will still be eligible. Employment status does not matter.
