This nationally accredited unit of competency specifies the outcomes required to undertake Work Health and Safety (WHS) induction training within the construction industry. It requires the ability to demonstrate personal awareness of WHS legislative requirements, and the basic principles of risk management and prevention of injury and illness in the construction industry. This course is commonly known as White Card training or formally Blue Card training.
All states and territories have agreed to implement the National Code of Practice for Induction for Construction Work which has been declared by Safe Work Australia. The result is a nationally consistent approach to construction induction training given to workers across Australia. It will also means that White Cards from any Australian state or territory are recognised nationally.
There are no pre-requisite units required to enrol into this course under the training package, however participants must be able to show proof of WA residency, have basic computer skills and access to a reliable computer with internet and e-mail access.

On successful completion participants will be issued with a Statement of Attainment with the following unit:
CPCCWHS1001 Work safely in the construction industry
Participants will be issued with a Western Australian white card.
Online / self-paced with 3 months to complete (approximately 4-6 hours depending on the individual learner and their personal circumstances and other commitments). This training involves reading, activities and exams. Learners are also required to complete a verbal assessment, and demonstrate putting on and taking off PPE, either via skype or FaceTime. You must book in a time when we have a trainer available, and you must supply your own PPE for the skype or FaceTime demonstration.
